WIPO supports Vietnam to develop the intellectual property environment as well as improve the Innovation Index

According to the signed agreements, WIPO will assist the National Office of Intellectual Property (NOIP) to implement the Enabling IP Environment (EIE) Project under the IP–Hub model. The Project’s objective is to increase the competence on intellectual property and the innovation of Research Institutes and Universities’s staffs in researching/creativity activities, registration and commercialization of patents as well as technology transfer.This team will play a central role in improving the quantity, quality and commercial value of inventions in research institutes and universities, while promoting the use and exploitation of patent information to avoid duplication in research.

Before the signing ceremony, Vietnamese Minister of Science and Technology Chu Ngoc Anh had a courtesy meeting with General Director of WIPO Francis Gurry. The Minister would like to thank the support and support of WIPO and personally the General Director for Vietnam, the Ministry of Science and Technology, as well as the support for Ambassador Duong Chi Dung – Head of the Delegation. Permanent representative of Vietnam in Geneva during the Ambassador’s duties as Chairman of the General Assembly of WIPO.


The Project shall be implemented in 05 years from 2019 to 2023 and it will establish a Network of experts with fulfilling knowledge and skills in Intellectual Property, management, commercialization of technology and other related fields.
