I. RENEWAL OF INDUSTRIAL DESIGN IN LAOS

1. Required documents

• An original Power of Attorney signed by owner;
• Photocopy of original Industrial design patent

2. Time limit

In practice, the time frame to complete recordal of renewal procedure is about 5-7 months from the filing date in Laos.

II. AMENDMENT OF INDUSTRIAL DESIGN IN LAOS

1. Required documents

• Original notarized Power of Attorney;
• Original notarized Declaration of Change of Name/Address or legal document showing the change of name/address;
• Original Industrial design patent.

2. Time limit

In practice, the time frame to complete recordal of name/address change procedure is about 5-7 months from the filing date in Laos.

 I. REQUIRED INFORMATION AND DOCUMENTS

1. Name, address and nationality of applicant and designer(s);

2. Photographs/drawings of front, rear, left, right, top, bottom and perspective views of Industrial Design (electronic format);
3. Certified copy of the priority document(s), if claimed;
4. Original notarized Power of Attorney of applicant in favour of ELITE LAW FIRM (under our form);
5. Original notarized Deed of Assignment, requested only if:
   • Applicant is individual but not the designer; or

• Applicant is organization not the applicant stated in priority application.

 II.TIME LIMIT

Time frame for registration of a design from filing to granting of a Design Registration Certificate (in a smooth case, without Office Action or objection/rejection) is normally around 06-12 months

 III. VALIDITY TERM

A Patent for Industrial Design is valid for 15 years from filing date, renewable each time for 5 years.
