Mr. Pham Cong Tac, Deputy Minister of Ministry of Science and Technology judged that the branding of agricultural products become an urgent request. One of the solutions to ensure the sustainable market development for agricultural products is to assure intellectual property rights to geographical indications. As geographical indications are attached with the advantages of natural conditions, production conditions, quality characteristics and reputation of the product.
On August 08, 2018, Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT), the representatives of 3 authorities of these ministries, press agencies, the media and some international organizations attended the signing ceremony of the Coordination Regulation on coordination between the three ministries on the building up and management of geographical indications.

After the signing ceremony, 3 focal point agencies of the three ministries will initiatively exchange regularly and develop specific plans for implementation of the regulations together.
