Hanoi authorities have seized over 5,000 skincare items labeled “Made in Korea” that lacked any invoices or supporting documentation. The haul belonged to Ngan Korea Cosmetics Co., Ltd., which had set up its business location within a private preschool in Yen Thuong commune, Gia Lam district. By situating the warehouse far from residential areas, the company appeared to be trying to evade the authority.

At the storage site, police found 5,400 bottles of exfoliating ampoules branded Dr. Melaxin Peel Shot—both rice and black rice formulas—each in an 80ml container with packaging claiming a Korean origin. Among these were 520 bottles of the Dr. Melaxin Peel Shot Exfoliant Rice Ampoule and 2,880 bottles of the Dr. Melaxin Peel Shot Exfoliant Black Rice Ampoule. The total retail value of the seized goods, according to listed prices, exceeds VND 2.1 billion (approximately USD 82,000).

Representatives from the company disclosed that all of the “Korean” cosmetics had been purchased through unregulated channels and arrived without any invoices or certificates. Moreover, the company had never reported or registered its business address under Vietnamese regulations.
