TRADEMARK REGISTRATION IN CHINA

 

I. Required documents:

1) Full name and address of the applicant in English and Chinese. (If the applicant has previous

trademark application or registration in China, or has a fixed Chinese name used in market,

such Chinese name is recommended to be used. If the applicant does not have a fixed Chinese

name, our firm could provide one for your reference);

2) A duly signed Power of Attorney;

3) If the applicant is a company, a sealed copy of updated Certificate of Incorporation is required;

If the applicant is a natural person, a clear signed copy of personal Identity Card together with

the ID number or a clear copy of passport page together with passport number is required;

4) The list of Classes and goods/services designations to be claimed under each Class, which

should be in accordance with the NICE CLASSIFICATION adopted in mainland China;

5) Specimen of trademark (an electronic version is preferable, together with confirmation as to

whether color protection is to be claimed, if the mark is used in color).

 

2. Time frame

If the application is duly, the official notification of acceptance shall be issued by the CNIPA after about 1~2 month(s) from the filing date of the trademark application.

POWER OF ATTORNEY:  

Softcopy of the Power of Attorney (POA) is also attached hereto.  The same is required to be executed by an authorized signatory of the Applicant in blue ink, have the company stamp affixed and then returned to us in original.  Please note, the Power of Attorney need not be notarized or legalized and is required to be filed within one month of filing of the Application.
