The Intellectual Property Office of Vietnam (VNIPO) announces the receipt of requests for quick examination of patent applications under the PPH program between the VNIPO and the Japanese Patent Office (JPO) from April 01, 2023, to March 31, 2023.
Regarding the receipt of requests for quick examination of patent applications under the PPH program (referred to as “PPH requests”) between the VNIPO and the JPO, the VNIPO hereby would like to announce:
By the end of March 31, 2024, the VNIPO had received 55 PPH requests for quick examination of patent applications under the Patent Prosecution Highway Program (PPH Program) for the period from October 01, 2023, to March 31, 2024, under the Cooperation Agreement between the VNIPO and the JPO.
The Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) is a program to fast-track patent examinations. It allows a Vietnam Patent Application stemming from a Japanese invention to be requested to accelerate its substantive examination in Vietnam if its family patent’s claims have been deemed patentable/allowable by the JPO.
Thus, the total number of PPH requests received at the VNIPO from April 01, 2023, to March 31, 2024, is 127 requests.
